Hello everyone,

Pure and simple, I need work. A lot of my currently-contracted work has started to slow down and I need something else to support me while I continue to try alternative forms of work. With this said, I will do one of two things: format your book or copyedit your manuscript.

The simple:

Copyediting – I’ll ask for $1 a page. I format it with 0.5 margins all around, Times New Roman size 12 font and single spaced.

Formatting – I’ll do it for $100 flat. All I ask is that your book is properly formatted (tabbed or autotabbed, but autotabs are hell on short story collections, FYI) and that you have the text set so it will appear as-is in the book (meaning italics for thoughts, not underlines, etc.)

I’ve copyedited and slush read for Dred Tales Webzine, the Brave Blue Mice Webzine and have worked for individual clients. I copyedited Rhiannon Frater’s As the World Dies: The First Days, As the World Dies: Fighting to Survive and Pretty When She Dies, the first two of which have won Dead Letter Awards and have since been picked up by TOR Publications. I have formatted the following ten books:

TANDEM OF TERROR by John Grover and Eric S. Brown
UNBOUND AND OTHER TALES by David Dunwoody
MR. MOON’S NIGHTMARES, V1 by Jonathan Moon
LETTERS FROM THE DEAD edited by Mark M. Johnson
THROUGH THE EYES OF THE UNDEAD edited by Robert Essig
FAITH AND THE UNDEAD by Benjamin Rogers
ASHTON MEMORIAL by Robert Best
COMES THE DARK by Patrick D’Orazio
CHAPTERED AND VERSED, POETIC AND CURSED by Zombie Zak
VERMIN by Scott Johnson

for Library of the Living Dead Press and its imprints and currently work for both the Library and Bandersnatch books. I am fast, reliable and incredibly easy to work with so long as you are willing to ask questions and offer input when you’re unsure of something.

If you could, I would really appreciate it if you spread this link around to friends/others looking for copyediting or formatting work. I need the work.

Thank you,

~ Kody

It’s a sad fact of life, death. It seems to happen at any moment, at any time, silently lurking where we don’t expect it to be. Such an incidence of unexpected death occurred Saturday the fourteenth, when fellow writer Jamie Eyberg and his wife, Ann, succumbed to gas poisoning on their property in Coon Rapids, Iowa. It brings tears to my eyes to know that even at the final moments of their lives—when the unexpected happened and the tragedy took hold on not only the Eyberg’s immediate family, but their online friends—heroism was all but present. Ann’s final moments in her mortal life were spent trying to save her husband. That in itself is something many think are capable of, but few even dream of doing.

With that said, I didn’t know Jamie that well, but in the brief time I knew him and the short amount of dialogue we had, I knew he was a good person, a good man with a loving family. This story is all the more tragic because of the children that have been left behind in the aftermath of this horrible tragedy. I can’t imagine the pain they are currently suffering, but I know that as a community, we are more than capable of helping, so I’m taking it upon myself to organize a charity auction to benefit their children. I don’t know how much we’ll be raise, but anything helps, especially when it comes to establishing and, hopefully, securing the future of the Eyberg children.

In conjunction with Library of the Living Dead, here is what you can do to help:

1. Donate directly to the charity at the side. Click on the ‘chip in’ widget at the side and enter your payment information. All funds sent to my PayPal address will be forwarded to Dr. Michael West and then sent to the account established in Coon Rapids for Kennedy and Brendan.

2. Donate books, memorabilia, or anything else that can be auctioned off. These can include limit-edition copies, standard print-copies, whatever you would like to send. Once the items start coming in, Dr. West and I will be arranging them into packs and they will be listed on eBay, priced according to worth. You can send whatever you are willing to donate to the address below:

Library of the Living Dead

PO Box 1101

New Cumberland, WV 26047

This event will run from now (August 19th) until September 30th. Any donations afterward will have to be made directly to the fund.

Thank you for your time and consideration with this event. Any support is much appreciated.
